February 24th, 2021 by KRNB CWFollowing her remarkable performance in Lifetime’s  Salt-N-Pepa biopic, actress   All American Monday night.  Townson plays Lil Jewel, an up-and-coming singer signed to record executive, JP played by  Elvis Nolasco. Although Jewel comes off a bit self-centered, Townson says she’ll later reveal she’s not exactly as she seems. “She starts off a little scandalous. I’m not gon hold you but there’s a deeper meaning to her,” Townson tells ABC Audio about her character. “She’s not just doing things for clout. So it’s going to be really interesting to see where her story goes during the season.”

Sumner High School, ca. 1908 The latest round of proposed closures for Saint Louis Public Schools has targeted one of the most historic high schools in America: Sumner High School, the first African-American high school west of the Mississippi River. I’ve written about Sumner High School in the equally historic Ville neighborhood in the past, but I feel like it’s worth revisiting the hallowed halls of this “palace of education,” as I called it before. The closure of Sumner would leave the Ville neighborhood with no public schools, as far as I can tell. (The St. Louis School Board will meet again in March to decide whether to close the school.)
