COLUMBIANA Ernest D. Martin, faithful pastor of Midway Mennonite Church from 1951 to 1989, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 19, 2021, at the age of 96.
Son of Daniel C. and Mamie (Yoder) Martin, Ernest married Rosetta M. Blosser on August 28, 1949. He was preceded in death by Rosetta and one grandson Kurt Martin.
He leaves one foster sister Leona (Darrel) Diener; three children Susan (Alan Beuscher), Timothy (Nancy) Martin, and Nathan (Barb) Martin; seven grandchildren Jesse (Jessica) Martin, Brian (Kate) Martin, Jeffrey (Karin) Martin, Rachel (Rich) Brinke, Julie (David) Rust, Katie (Jordan) Brown and Kyle (Sarah) Martin; and several great grandchildren. Ernest was well known beyond his local church as an author and church conference leader. He wrote many Bible study materials including a Believers Church Commentary on Colossians & Philemon, and most recently a guide “Toward a Biblical Theology of Marriage.” He helped his denomination open up new

Rex Clark Patton, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, friend, co-worker, often being known as “Dr. Rex” or “The General”. Rex passed away on February 21, 2021, at the age of 81, after he fought the good fight in his battle with cancer. Rex and his Wife, Ilomae “Snooks” resided in Lebanon, Ohio, from April 2020 to the present time, but prior, resided in their country home of 40 years in Rochester, Minnesota. Rex was born on November 26, 1939, to John Clark and Elvira Mae (Turner), in Hampton, Iowa. Rex was an Electrical Engineer working for IBM and TRW. Rex graduated from The University of Iowa in 1968 with his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering; obtained a Masters of Business Administration from the College of St. Thomas in 1985; received his Masters of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from The National Technological University in 1995; and graduated with a Doctor of Bu
