TROY – A 26-year-old man pleaded guilty to felony second-degree strangulation Wednesday in Rensselaer County Court as part of a plea deal reached during his sexual assault trial, court officials said.
Kenneth J. Zeoli will receive a sentence of six months in jail and five years of probation when Judge Debra Young sentences him Sept. 10, according to court records. He entered his plea on the third day of the trial, which included two days of jury selection.

Troy police said Tuesday there is not sufficient information to file criminal charges against two Rensselaer police officers in the death of a woodchuck on a golf course this summer.
And while those officers remain on paid administrative suspension, the case has been referred to the state Department of Environmental Conservation. After thoroughly reviewing all available information regarding the case and in consultation with the Rensselaer County District Attorney s Office, it has been determined that the case did not yield sufficient information to warrant charges, according to a statement issued by Troy Police Capt. SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. â New York State Police in Brunswick recently arrested William M. Huber, 34, of Troy, for attempted murder. Huber was charged in connection with the detonation of an improvised explosive device, which exploded under a vehicle in the town of Schaghticoke last Monday.
At approximately 4:39 a.m. on March 1, State Police responded to a home in the area of New Turnpike Road in Schaghticoke for a report of an explosion.
Officials said the preliminary investigation by troopers determined the victim started his 2020 Ford 150, which was parked outside his residence, and began to pull forward when an explosive device detonated under the truck. The victim was uninjured.

TROY A Rensselaer County grand jury indicted a city man for second-degree murder in the Jan. 15 strangulation death of his wife, according to papers filed with the court clerk.
Taquan L. Evans, 35, was indicted in the death of Georlasia B. Evans near their residence on 104th St. between 12 a.m. and 8:40 a.m. Jan. 15. Police learned of the alleged killing when Georlasia B. Evans body was left in a vehicle outside the entrance to Samaritan Hospital.
