TROY, N.Y. â Rensselaer County District Mary Pat Donnelly announced that Autumn Hinchcliff, 25, of Troy, was sentenced to state prison after her plea of guilty in connection with an April 2019 stabbing. Hinchcliff pleaded guilty in March.
She was sentenced to 12 years in state prison on one count of second-degree attempted murder, 12 years for one count of first-degree assault, six years for one count of second-degree assault, 2â - 7 years on one count of aggravated criminal contempt, all felonies, and 364 days on one count of misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Hinchcliff has been in the Rensselear County jail since her arrest on April 18, 2019, in connection with the stabbing that took place on 2nd Street in the City of Troy.

Rensselaer County Court Judge Jennifer Sober sentenced Edwards to 23 years to life for the charge of felony second-degree murder, and 3 1/2 to seven years for felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Since Edwards was a second time felony offender, Sober enforced the maximum sentences.
Edwards, who was released on parole in connection with a previous charge, was arrested following an investigation into the death of Haughton. Haughtonâs body was found on Jan. 14, 2019, at 491 Pawling Ave., Troy, after a welfare check by Troy police. An extensive probe revealed that Edwards had repeatedly stabbed Haughton in the presence of their infant child.
