NEW DELHI: Seeking to end speculation over forming a nine-member committee of farmer representatives to hold talks with the Centre, their umbrella outfit, Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), on Tuesday said there was no such committee and there was no any communication from the government side to hold the fresh discussions on their key demands including repeal of three central farm laws and legal guarantee to purchase at minimum support price (MSP).
The Morcha also insisted on its plan to send a team of farmer leaders to poll-bound states including West Bengal and Assam for appealing voters not to vote for the BJP in the Assembly polls. This programme will begin in West Bengal on March 12. There will be ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ (farmers’ meeting) in Kolkata on March 12 and March 13, in Nandigram on March 13 and in Singur and Asansol on March 14. ....

New Delhi: In a shocking development, Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta-Ugrahan) president Joginder Singh Ugrahan has dared police personnel of Delhi and Punjab to enter the villages to arrest the accused in connection with the violence during the farmers’ tractor rally in the national capital on Republic Day.
Addressing the Kisans in Punjab’s Malwa area, Ugrahan said, “I am saying this even today dare to touch us. I am seriously saying this. If anyone of you get any notice, burn it, burn it. Let me know if Delhi Police enters our village. Declare that any police whether from Punjab or Delhi must not enter village.” ....

BKU's Ugrahan dares Delhi Police to enter Punjab to arrest accused (Lead)


(MENAFN - IANS) p>Chandigarh, Feb 21 (IANS) Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta-Ugrahan) President Joginder Singh Ugrahan on Sunday dared Delhi Police to enter Punjab for arresting the Red Fort violence accused.
At a massive show of strength by the farmers and farm labourers mainly from the Malwa region of Punjab at Barnala town, he said this was for the first time in history that a protest of such a scale in India was mounted to challenge a fascist and communal government .
The maha kisan-mazdoor rally saw thousands of farmers and farm labourers protest the Centre s three contentious farm laws.
Ugrahan said the rally was historic as the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta-Ugrahan) came together with the Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union. ....
