Ryan Weld, R-Brooke, said to each of the commencement ceremonies via video. “You’re going to make your mark on the world and make your community and your state a better place. Go out and make your mark. Go out and make a difference. Use your degree … to make a difference. “You will use your degree and use what you have and use the knowledge that you gained and go out and make a difference in the world. What you have isn’t just a diploma but a ticket to a network of alumni across the country. You are now a small part of a bigger network. Use that network to your advantage.”

State Sen Weld to address West Liberty graduates | News, Sports, Jobs

Weld WEST LIBERTY State Sen. Ryan Weld will deliver the commencement address at West Liberty University’s Spring 2021 Commencement Ceremonies. Weld will provide a virtual speech presented on the Main Street Bank Video Board at both the undergraduate and graduate ceremonies. Due to social distancing requirements, there is one graduate and three undergraduate and ceremonies planned for Friday and Saturday. WLU President W. Franklin Evans will preside at the ceremonies and faculty will participate in the ceremony for their respective colleges. “We are grateful that Senator Weld will join us as our speaker. He is a leader committed to the future and we thank him for his ongoing support for higher education. We are honored by his presence,” Evans said.
