How to get barista-style coffee delivered direct to your door while cafés are closed

Mobile coffee companies can park up outside your house Credit: Craig Eccleston If lockdowns have taught us anything, it’s how many small things we once took for granted. Like good coffee. And not just the taste of proper, barista-made coffee, but the café culture that goes with it. While café doors are closed, there may be a new remedy to satisfy our coffee cravings – mobile baristas delivering freshly-made drinks right to our doors. I discovered the service in the form of Really Awesome Coffee, which has 60 vans run by franchisees across the country. On a quiet Wednesday last week, Corinne Mason, who owns the franchise for Rugby in Warwickshire, pulled up outside to serve me a toffee nut latte – and some soup. Laden with hot and cold savoury snacks and sweet treats, her van provided me a much-needed break from the same four walls, and a bit of human interaction, too.
