LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 12, 2021) For many high school students, college is only a dream. The combined cost of tuition, living expenses, books, student fees, etc. threatens to exclude more and more intelligent and hard-working students from receiving an engineering education.
In 1999, L. Stanley Pigman, who earned a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1981, determined he would close this gap and began funding scholarships for students whose financial situations would prevent them from attending UK. Since that time, he and his wife, Karen, have financially supported and mentored 120 students through L. Stanley Pigman Scholarships.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 15, 2020) You could say, three p’s shaped Rebecca Liebert: planning, project management and not procrastinating.
For the University of Kentucky alumna and Paintsville, Kentucky native, these qualities were instilled at an early age. Planning for crops on her family’s farm in Eastern Kentucky, while managing schoolwork was no simple task and she wasn t to procrastinate.
Fast forward, Liebert, the executive vice president at PPG a global manufacturer of paints, coatings and specialty materials attributes her successful career to leaning in on these three p’s.

Fast forward, Liebert, the executive vice president at PPG a global manufacturer of paints, coatings and specialty materials attributes her successful career to leaning in on these three p’s.
Now, she’s applying those same principles in a philanthropic commitment to the university.
