RVNAhealth Launches Community Food Drive to Support Neighbors Struggling with Food Insecurity Written by Nancy Rowe This summer, RVNAhealth is partnering with the Danbury Health Department to ensure the Covid-19 vaccine reaches underserved communities where obstacles, such as time, transportation, information, and access, are preventing people from getting vaccinated. As part of this public health initiative, RVNAhealth will also be bringing a “traveling food pantry” into these communities to help neighbors who are experiencing food insecurity. After receiving their vaccine, community members will have the opportunity to “shop” in the food pantry and bring nonperishable items home to share with their families. ....

With a post-pandemic future in sight, the Meetinghouse is re-opening with a focus on the arts, farm & food, and holistic wellness. Established in 1760 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, The Meetinghouse has played a key role in our nation’s history. More than that, The Meetinghouse has served as a gathering place for the Ridgebury community. First to open is the Visual Arts portion with a non-profit two floor art gallery and residency. Next We posted back in February about a young Ridgefielder s mission: Ruby Weiner, a 6th Grade Student at Scott s Ridge Middle School and Cadette Girl Scout wants to help young community members experiencing food insecurity by creating a second Little Pantry in Ridgefield.
With the help of some community partners, Ruby s Little Pantry was installed yesterday in Nature s Temptationsparking lot by Clark Construction of Ridgefield! The official ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held this Sunday, April 25th at 1 PM at Ridgebury Congregational Church located at 605 Ridgebury Road.
