Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church (ORUUC) will resume its semi-annual rummage sale after a two-year break. Bargain hunters mark your calendars for Friday, (preview sale,) June 4, from noon to 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 5.
ORUUC is located at 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike. Proceeds raised will help to support various outreach ministries of the church, according to a church news release.
“To help ensure everyone safety there will be some changes this year,” sale organizer Amanda Fishel stated in the release. “Shoppers and volunteers will be required to wear a mask at all times. To promote social distancing, only 75 people at a time will be permitted inside the building. There are longer hours to shop, and a tent was added to make more room for displaying items,” added Fishel.

Nine churches to stage free nativity drive-through Saturday

Nine Oak Ridge congregations will present a free drive-through nativity from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 19.
Everyone is invited to drive through the parking lots of the following churches in order, beginning with First Christian Church on the west end of town, to view scenes from the Christmas story, a press release said.
First Christian Church, 100 Gum Hollow Road: The angel appears to Mary.
Church of Jesus Christ LDS, 140 South Jefferson Circle: Mary visits Elizabeth.
High Places Community Church, 123 Randolph Road: Road to Bethlehem.
First United Methodist Church, 1350 Oak Ridge Turnpike: No room at the inn.
