More than 160 Confederate symbols and statues were taken down across the US in 2020 - including many that were vandalized and toppled by BLM protesters
A total of 168 Confederate symbols were changed or removed from public spaces in 2020, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center 
The symbols included statues, placards and names on buildings, public parks and schools 
All but one was taken down after George Floyd was killed in Minneapolis in May, sparking nationwide protests
At least one was stolen and several were vandalized by protesters before being removed
These racist symbols only serve to uphold revisionist history and the belief that white supremacy remains morally acceptable,  SPLC Chief of Staff Lecia Brooks said ....
