Patient claims Touchette Regional Hospital, physician failed to diagnose heart condition

Unsell BELLEVILLE Touchette Regional Hospital and one of its physicians is accused of failing to diagnose and treat a patient s myocardial infarction.  Clifford Conway filed a complaint March 5 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Richard Shaffer, M.D., Envision Physician Services LLC and Touchette Regional Hospital Inc., alleging negligence.  According to Conway s complaint, he came under the care of the defendants on Aug. 2, 2019. While under their care, Conway alleges the defendants failed to diagnose his myocardial infarction, failed to evaluate and transfer him in a timely manner and failed to take a proper physical and proper medical history.
