Jun 25, 2021 Jasmine Hartin Remanded until Bail is Posted In a turn of events, Canadian Jasmine Hartin, who was out on bail and facing charges of manslaughter by negligence in the death of police Superintendent Henry Jemmott at San Pedro last month, is once more in the arms of the law. New charges were levied against her this morning following an incident at the Grand Colony Hotel in San Pedro on Tuesday, but as News Five’s Duane Moody found out today at the Supreme Court there were bigger problems brewing for the mother of two.   Duane Moody, Reporting After three p.m. today, Jasmine Hartin was escorted up the steps of the Supreme Court in Belize City where she reappeared before Justice Herbert Lord.  It wasn’t a bail revocation hearing, but actually a session to hear a withdrawal application from Frank Habet, the General Manager of Grand Colony Resort, who had posted the thirty-thousand-dollar bail bond and signed the surety of the same amount on behalf of Hart

May 14, 2021 Accused Drug Traffickers denied bail Three men who Police say were nabbed on Wednesday at a checkpoint in Ladyville with a hefty load of marijuana were today denied bail when they appeared before Senior Magistrate, Aretha Ford. The men, Ian Poot from Patchakan Village, Corozal, and Edwin Bowen and Eustace Andrews from Belize City, appeared with their attorneys, Ellis Arnold and Richard “Dickie” Bradley to answer to the charges before them. Poot, the nephew of former Deputy Prime Minister Hugo Patt, is accused of using a truck that is registered in the name of his two uncles, Hugo and Pedro Patt in the alleged trafficking of the drugs.  Patt, who is now the Deputy Leader of the Opposition, has disassociated himself from the incident, issuing a release this evening saying he has no knowledge of what occurred, and denounced drug trafficking activities.
