A Lewiston motorcyclist died from his injuries suffered in a collision with a box truck last week on the Gore Road in Oxford, according to the Oxford Police Department.
Michael Olcott, 38, had suffered severe head and leg injuries May 26 and died from those injuries, said Oxford Police Department Capt. Rickie Jack. Olcott was not wearing a helmet, Jack said.
Olcott was rounding a curve headed toward Norway when his bike hit the dual wheels on the driver’s side of a 2020 Freightliner truck registered to Ryder Truck Rental, Jack said. The driver, Michael Hussey, 37, of Norway tried to avoid the collision, Jack said.

OXFORD A Raymond man suffered serious head injuries when his motorcycle collided with a van turning left onto Norway Lane from Route 26 on Monday evening.
The motorcyclist, Kevin Carter, 53, driving a 2021 Harley Davidson with a temporary plate, began passing a line of vehicles heading south on Route 26, according to witness statements, said Oxford Police Department Capt. Rickie Jack.
The lead vehicle in the line, a 2015 Ford Transit van driven by Deirdre T. Malley, 37, of Oxford, turned left onto Norway Lane near the Honey Badger Restaurant, Jack said. Carter had already committed to pass the van and collided with the left side of the vehicle.

OXFORD Selectmen on Thursday night appointed a school board member, accepted a grant and held an executive session on hiring a new town manager.
The meeting, which lasted 15 minutes, was attended by Sharon Jackson, Dana Dillingham and Samantha Hewey, who acted as chairwoman in the absence of Scott Hunter, who was on a fire call. Caldwell Jackson did not attend.
Lisa Dunham was appointed a School Administrative District 17 director. She succeeds David Dunn, who resigned in November after his wife, Joan Davis-Dunn, took a position at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
Dunham, co-owner of Valley View Orchard Pies on Madison Avenue, submitted a letter to the board expressing interest in the position.
