The developer of upcoming Auckland apartment building The Pacifica, at 10-12 Commerce Street, has gotten the memo. Its PR says, The Pacifica will “exist as a vertical community”, with facilities for exercise and relaxation, including a community terrace, and a community and entertainment space on another level. The International in Princes St, is another trend-setter, a former commercial building redeveloped as apartments. “There is no wasted space in these apartments. In houses, there are a lot of hallways, whereas these apartments have big open plan living areas with lots of light,” says the development’s agent, Ross Hawkins, from Ray White Black Group.
