Jun. 5 Several small wildfires broke out Saturday afternoon on a hot day in Northern California. Dozens of homes were evacuated due to a wildfire burning in the Burney area, according to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office. The fire is small, only seven acres wide as of 3 p.m., according to the Sheriff's Office, but is burning just southwest of the town of Burney and is threatening homes in the .
House fire in Rancho Calaveras 5-28-21
Rancho Calaveras, CA Fire crews are still on the scene of a structure fire in Calaveras County this morning.
The blaze ignited in a home on the 6000 block of Cane Lane near Brooks Road, south of Highway 26 in the Rancho Calaveras area Friday evening. Calaveras Consolidated Fire reported heavy fire conditions on the second floor at the front of the home with the flames ignited in the attic. Luckily, those inside the house were able to escape the blaze unharmed. They report significant damage inside the home but the flames did not spread to any other areas of the home or to nearby vegetation.

Rancho Calaveras, CA CAL Fire reports that smoke and dust might be visible in the area of Highway 26 and Hogan Dam Road in the Rancho Calaveras community.
Numerous resources will be on the scene as part of a torch training exercise. The project area encompasses around six acres of brush and grassland. The training will run today from 9:30am-5pm. There will be three engines, a fuels crew, two baseline hand crews and a heavy fire equipment operator.
The Terra Torch equipment being utilized can remove fuels, increase fire lines, widen fire breaks and establish backfires.
