Temple High freshman Rajah Coleman canât stand to see people cold.
So when she and 26 other Temple High students were tasked with making fleece blankets for St. Vincent de Paulâs thrift store and food pantry, it was a welcomed opportunity.
âIt feels good to help other people who are struggling to provide for themselves,â Rajah, 15, told the Telegram. âI see so many people that are cold and this is a good way to help people that are in that situation.â
This two-day project â involving students enrolled in Education Service Center Region 12âs GEAR UP program â produced approximately 50 handmade blankets for St. Vincent de Paul, 106 W. Ave. D in Temple. Students completed their handiwork during three 30-minute lunch periods.
