Mumbai: WR provides financial aid to widows of its staffers who died performing duty | Mumbai News

Representation image Mumbai: To commemorate International Widow’s Day recently, as a token of support and on humanitarian grounds, Tanuja Kansal, president of Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (WRWWO) provided financial assistance to the widows of the WR’s employees who lost their lives while performing their duty. Kansal handed over Rs 5,000 each to 12 widows of WR’s Group ‘D’ employees, who lost their life while on duty in 2020-21. “It has been a great loss to the family, and the organization. New edition of Western Railway’s Popular In – House Magazine “Rail Darpan” released The latest edition of Western Railway s popular in-house magazine Rail Darpan , which has also earned the distinction of winning the prestigious National Award of India’s best in-house magazine from the hands of The President of India, instituted by the Rajbhasha Directorate of Home Ministry of Govt of India, was released by Alok Kansal– General Manager of W.Rly along with Tanuja Kansal – President of Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (WRWWO) and Alok Kumar - Additional General Manger of W. Rly at a function on 13 th March, 2021 held at Railway Officer’s Club at Badhwar Park, Mumbai.

International Women s Day: All-women crew runs Bengaluru-bound train

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru Division of South Western Railway (SWR) celebrated International Women’s Day in a novel way by running an all-women crew of a train yesterday. The authorities decided to run Train No 06535 Mysuru-Solapur Golgumbaz Express with all-women crew, comprising loco pilot and assistant loco pilot, guard, ticket checking staff and security personnel. Through this they wanted to stress railway’s commitment to create a gender equal workforce to achieve all-round development of organisation.  Divisional Railway Manager of SWR Mysuru,  Rahul Agarwal, President of South Western Railway Women Welfare Organisation (SWRWWO) Pooja Agarwal and other members of SWRWWO  flagged off the train.
