The Amphi School District Wins One Round In Court, But More Legal Challenges Lie Ahead.

THE AMPHITHEATER School District won a round last week
when Pima County Superior Court Judge John M. Quigley ruled that
real estate broker Bill Arnold did not have a conflict of interest
when he served as Amphi s exclusive agent.
Former Pima County supervisor David Yetman had sued the school
district, alleging that Arnold s contract, which allowed him to
negotiate his fees with the sellers of the property, created a
de facto conflict of interest for Arnold.

ARIZONA S TWO latest incorporated communities, Casas
Adobes and Tortolita, have a lot in common. Both:
Were incorporated under the 1997 state law eliminating the
need to apply for permission from other cities within six miles;
Exist under a cloud while the question of the constitutionality
of that law and the 1961 law setting up those disenfranchisement
zones wind through the courts;
Are hobbled by an inability to raise cash while the lawsuits
continue;
Face an immediate problem concerning the funding of a special
census needed to secure full revenue sharing, and; ....

Tim Steller's opinion: Local experience shows election-fraud believers won't be satisfied


The government was not doing enough, from their point of view, to prove that the results of an election were not fraudulent.
It was the Pima County Board of Supervisors in January 2008, and the election in question was the 2006 Pima County vote over a half-cent sales tax to fund a new transportation plan and establish a Regional Transportation Authority. It passed by 60% to 40%, a surprisingly big margin.
More than a year after the election, doubts had grown over whether the election was legitimate. Attorney Bill Risner spearheaded an effort to search for evidence of irregularities or fraud, and the Pima County Democratic Party signed onto a lawsuit seeking records. ....
