Explosions as new Yemeni government arrives at Aden airport

At least five people have been killed and dozens more were wounded in an attack on Aden airport, reported a news agency.
The incident happened shortly after a plane carrying the newly-formed internationally-recognized Yemeni government arrived in Yemen s temporary capital city from Saudi Arabia.
Loud blasts and gunfire were heard at the airport shortly after the plane arrived, witnesses said.
The cabinet members were transferred safely to the city s presidential palace, witnesses and Saudi media said.
Those transferred to safety included Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik, as well as Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Said al-Jaber, according to reports in Saudi media.

The Houthi Militias trying to hit the new Yemeni government plane at Aden airport Martin Griffiths, the UN Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen, condemned the airport attack, calling it an unacceptable act of violence. “I strongly condemn the attack at Aden airport upon the Cabinet’s arrival and the killing and injury of many innocent civilians. My sincere condolences and solidarity to all who lost loved ones,” he said via Twitter. “I wish the Cabinet strength in facing the difficult tasks ahead. This unacceptable act of violence is a tragic reminder of the importance of bringing Yemen urgently back on the path towards peace,” he added.

At least 13 people were killed and dozens more wounded in an attack on Aden airport on Wednesday moments after a plane landed carrying a newly formed Saudi-backed cabinet for government-held parts of Yemen.
Loud blasts and gunfire were heard at the airport shortly after the plane arrived from Riyadh, witnesses said. Two security sources gave the toll of casualties. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
