Torres wandered Sunday evening from his home on the 1300 block of North Duke Street and ended up at a stormwater tunnel that runs along East 10th Avenue, said York County Coroner Pamela Gay. Northern York County Regional police said they were called to Torres’ home at 6:30 p.m. The boy was last seen in his backyard about 15 minutes prior. Gay said Torres was found at about 8:15 p.m. in water, about 300 feet from the tunnel entrance. Although attempts were made to save his life, the 2-year-old was pronounced dead at York Hospital at 9:11 p.m.
