Amtech: Fiscal Q2 Earnings Snapshot May 5, 2021 FacebookTwitterEmail TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) Amtech Systems Inc. (ASYS) on Wednesday reported a loss of $246,000 in its fiscal second quarter. On a per-share basis, the Tempe, Arizona-based company said it had a loss of 2 cents. The provider of equipment for solar panel and semiconductor makers posted revenue of $19.8 million in the period. For the current quarter ending in July, Amtech said it expects revenue in the range of $21 million to $23 million. Amtech shares have risen 64% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $10.48, more than doubling in the last 12 months. ....

ROORKEE: A 29-year-old student died at a Covid-19 quarantine centre set up at the Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee (IIT-R) on Wednesday. The cause of his death is yet to be confirmed. Prem Singh, a resident of Chandigarh, was an MTech student at the department of earthquake engineering. According to the reports, he was quarantined on April 11 as he had come in contact with other Covid-positive students of the institute. On Wednesday, the officials found him unconscious and was first rushed to the institute’s hospital, and later, to a local civil hospital where he was declared dead. According to Sonika Srivastava, IIT-Roorkee media cell incharge, “The student was not Covid-positive as his RT-PCR report was negative.” ....
