Morristown Gateway Museum holding free open house, Arts Festival on May 29

Sunday, May 23, 2021 - 5:35 pm MORRISTOWN The Morristown Gateway Museum invites you to attend the free open house of a beautifully renovated farmhouse and an Arts Festival at the Red Barn Preserve property Saturday, May 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Local Artisans MaryAnn Evans, Debra Monteith, Jack Taylor and Pam Winchester will demonstrate their artistic skill and answer questions.   Scott Ouderkirk will talk about the history of skiffs and Dr. Jessica Rogers, professor of environmental studies, will share her study of an invasive plant that has been identified at the Red Barn Preserve Trails.   Art students from Morristown Central School will be drawing out on the trails.

(WWNY) - SLC Arts is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2021 Decentralization Regrants. SLC Arts offers three grant opportunities for artists, arts organizations, municipalities, and 501(c)3 non-profit organizations throughout St. Lawrence, Jefferson, and Lewis Counties. Each year, through the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Regrant Program, SLC Arts distributes over $60,000 in state funds throughout the North Country, for the purpose of arts programming. Projects of all artistic disciplines funded through this program include, but are not limited to: concerts, theatrical performances, art classes, public art exhibitions, and even the creation of new, community-based work.
