CRIME WATCH Email address: Don t worry we don t spam On June 30, 2021 at about 4:20 AM, Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2900 block of Urban Avenue regarding a burglary in progress. The reporting party, and her juvenile daughter both called 9-1-1 to report an intruder in their residence. When officers arrived on scene, they immediately established a perimeter around the residence and noticed one of the windows was smashed. They observed the suspect, later identified as Joshua Absolom Hattam, a 49-year-old male from San Francisco, inside the residence. Officers were able to quickly take him into custody, while also checking the status of all the residents. The residents told officers there were awoken by a loud crashing noise, then noticed Hattam in their living room, yelling. Man forgets gun on coffee run, gets arrested May. 27, 2021 at 12:22 pm On May 26, 2021 Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) officers observed a vehicle with its hazard lights flashing and playing loud music blocking a traffic lane near the 100 block of Olympic Drive, thus creating a hazard for eastbound traffic. Upon further inspection, officers discovered the vehicle had its windows rolled down and was unoccupied. In plain view was an alcoholic beverage and a 9mm Beretta 92FS firearm.  Shortly after their initial observation, a male subject quickly approached the officers and explain he was in the Starbucks at Main and Olympic and only briefly left the vehicle unattended. The subject proceeded to state he did not have proper identification and subsequently provided officers with a false name.
