Kota Kinabalu: Some 500 personnel from the Fifth Infantry Division of the Malaysian Army will be deployed during the latest Movement Control Order (MCO) 2.0 throughout Sabah, said its new Commander Major General Datuk Mohd Halim Khalid.
He said they would assist the authorities, namely the police and other uniformed agencies, to regulate the movement of people in the effort to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission.
“Before this, we have around 200 personnel but will add another 200 to 250 to carry out daily duties throughout the period,” he said after handing over tokens of appreciation to personnel from the 20th Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (RAMD), here.
