Ben Barr Reference Check #2 With UMass HC Greg Carvel
As we continue to get to know the new University of Maine hockey head coach Ben Barr, we turned to the head coach of Barr s most-recent stop, the UMass Minutemen.
With Barr at his side, Greg Carvel and company won the 2020-21 college hockey national title and Carvel joined us to say why Barr will excel in his new role with the Black Bears.
He gave his opinions and recapped the Frozen Four weekend with UMass winning their first title.
What does that mean for the Minutemen, and for the Hockey East? Will this be a model to follow by schools moving forward?

Jeremy Swayman is off to a 3-1 start to his NHL career with the Boston Bruins after leading the B s past the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in a shootout last night at the T.D. Garden.
A player who has quickly become known for always having a smile on his face while between the pipes, Swayman was visibly emotional post-game while discussing playing in honor of his former-coach Red Gendron.
Responding to a question from ABC7/FOX22 Sports Director John Wagoner, Swayman said I know he would want me to be even-keeled, when asked about playing while dealing with the emotions following Gendron s passing last Friday.
