Last Call with Steve Favulli, Box 4 President
Sarah Connell Sanders
Correspondent
Steve Favulli has dedicated his retirement from the Worcester Fire Department to operating the Box 4 Worcester Canteen Truck, an incident rehab vehicle for public safety personnel.
How long were you a Worcester firefighter?
I went on the fire department on June 19, 1983, and I retired on August 14th, 2014. You could call it 32 years.
Where was your home station?
Central Division, which is now a hotel. I was there for 21 years and then they knocked the building down and temporarily relocated us to Grove Street. Then, we moved to Franklin Street when it opened and that s where I finished my career. I was the third generation of the first Italian firefighter in the city of Worcester. The day I graduated, I got my grandfather s badge.
