PARMA, Ohio The swearing-in last month of Dominick Trozzi as a new Parma Fire Department cadet marked a two-decades-old dream come true for the Parma native.
But setting goals and reaching for dreams is nothing new to Trozzi, who has been competing as a world-class weightlifter around the globe for the last decade.
“My last USA Weightlifting competition was in 2018 or 2019,” said Trozzi, 24, a 2015 graduate of Parma High School. “The Olympics has always been my goal but, obviously, trying to make a living comes first.

PARMA, Ohio Upon expected approval from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Parma Fire Department plans on purchasing a new $227,000 ambulance using Community Development Block Grant-CV CARES Act funding.
“This ambulance will be state of the art for COVID,” Fire Chief Michael Lasky said. “It’ll have wipes special for disinfecting COVID right off the bat. There’s also a solution chemical, which is a spray.

PARMA, Ohio Nursing homes are the frontline of the pandemic in Ohio where nearly 4,000 residents have died from COVID-19. That’s why last week the state started vaccinating seniors and staff members.
Armed with Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, Gov. Mike DeWine on Friday (Dec. 18) visited Parma where Pleasantview Care Center staff and residents received vaccinations.
