Banh mi is one of the most popular
street foods in Vietnam, Aldridge claimed. The dish was first created during French colonial rule during the 19th century. Banh mi uses a French baguette and is filled with a delicious selection of ingredients.
The baguette sandwich is filled with greens and a choice of fillings, including paté and usually pork. Other fillings include beef, chicken, liver and tofu. Banh mi is so good that it s gone on to be imitated around the world, from London to New York.

Banh xeo (sizzling pancakes)
These enormous, cheap and filling Vietnamese pancakes contains shrimp, pork, bean sprouts and egg. They are fried, wrapped in rice paper with greens and dunked in a sauce before eaten.

Da Nang City Tourism Promotion Centre, in collaboration with Helen Le, the host of Helen’s Recipes YouTube channel on Vietnamese cuisine, have launched a livestream programme entitled “Mam Mam Da Nang”
to provide viewers with cooking instructions for typical Da Nang dishes, according to Huynh Thi Huong Lan, deputy director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre.

Vietnam begins COVID-19 vaccination on March 8
Vietnam launches its COVID-19 inoculation drive on March 8 morning, administering the AstraZeneca vaccine to medical workers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and northern Hai Duong province – the country’s biggest pandemic hotspot at present.
The vaccination is conducted at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi, the HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases and two medical centres in Hai Duong.
As many as 100 staff members of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases are expected to receive the shots in the morning of March 8. The hospital is allocated 450 doses among the first batch of 117,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine the country has received.
