VIROQUA –Friends of Vernon County Parks & Forests will hold the first of their series of ‘Spring Ephemerals Hikes’ at the Duck Egg County Forest, on Saturday, April 17, starting at 4 p.m. Hikers will search for spring ephemerals. Participants should meet at the Upper Duck Egg parking lot, and will go on a guided, gentle one-to-three mile hike around the property. At the end of the hike, there will be a bonfire near the parking area… The Viroqua Library and Valley Stewardship Network are teaming up for a couple Earth Day education events this month! VIROQUA –Vernon Communications Cooperative (VC Co-op) and Leum Technologies, Inc. are excited to announce a new joint venture in Viroqua. On December 15, the Vernon Tech Center opened at VC Co-op’s former Viroqua office located at 214 N. Main St. This community technology center will be a one-stop shop that offers technology advice, products, and services to local homes and businesses. VIROQUA –The Friends of Vernon County Parks and Forests will be hosting ‘Snowcially distanced’ guided winter walks exploring various Vernon County parks on Saturday afternoons in January and February of 2021. The winter walks and bonfire series are for family and friends of all ages. Walkers are to meet in the park parking lots. All walks will have a volunteer guide and will be approximately 45 minutes to one hour long, with a bonfire to immediately follow. Most walks will begin at 3 p.m., except the January 30 ‘Sidie Stomp,’ which is a collaboration with our friends at Vernon Trails, and will begin at 5 p.m. The Friends of Vernon County Parks encourages walkers to always dress appropriately for the walk and the weather, invite your fam
