Jessica von Bredow-Werndl
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl is a German grand prix dressage rider and European medallist, who is campaigning for team selection for the Tokyo Olympic Games with TSF Dalera BB.
Jessica was born on 16 February 1986. Her mother Micaela was a member of the German junior ski team for seven years, and her father Klaus is a German national sailing champion. When the family moved to Aubenhausen in southern Germany in 1993, Jessica and her brother Benjamin Werndl took up riding, as did their mother.
Building a senior career
Jessica had a very successful dressage career as a junior and young rider, winning six gold medals in youth ranks with Bonito and Duchess. After university she spent three months living in the UK, basing her horses with Emile Faurie, in order to improve her English.

Two Western European Slots Opened Up
Four slots have been filled with riders who did not originally quality for the event.
Two Western European League slots were declined by qualified riders: Cathrine Dufour chose not to compete Atterupgaards Cassidy, with whom she won the CDI-W Vilhelmsborg in October 2020. Also Austrian Florian Bacher chose not to make the trip to Sweden. He recently broke his arm and is still recovering from his injury.
Both Dufour and Bacher tied in 9th place on the Western European League ranking.
One of those spots have been taken by the American based Israeli rider Sahar Hirosh, who will be making his World Cup debut aboard the 18-year old Dutch warmblood Whitman

2021 CDI-W Salzburg
It has been a long wait since the first leg was staged last October, but the resumption of the 2020/2021 FEI Dressage World Cup™ Western European League didn’t disappoint when Germany’s Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Dalera BB swept to victory in Salzburg, Austria on Sunday 24 January 2021.
In a cracker of a competition, the pair who helped claimed team gold at the 2018 World Equestrian Games threw down a superb performance when second-last to go in the field of 13. And their score of 87.960 ousted the partnership that have claimed the coveted Dressage World Cup title on the last three occasions, Isabell Werth and Weihegold OLD who had to settle for runner-up spot on their mark of 84.720.

The Netherlands
Today Indoor Brabant, the organizers of the World Cup qualifier of s Hertogenbosch, announced that their competition is ago despite corona restrictions in The Netherlands.
The 2021 CDI-W s Hertogenbosch is scheduled for 12 - 14 March 2021.
The event will take place in a heavily slimmed down version, with only the top classes in dressage and jumping being held. There will no audience and no trade fair.
