Bangladesh clinch series beating West Indies in 2nd ODI

Bangladesh clinched the three match ODI series beating West Indies by seven wickets in the second ODI of three-match series at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Friday.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s career-best bowling figure 4-25, helped Bangladesh bowl out a weakened West Indies for 148 in 43.4 overs.
In reply, the home side reached 149-3 in 33.2 overs, with skipper Tamim Iqbal hitting 50 off 76 balls.
The hosts, who won Wednesday s opening match by six wickets, took early wickets before Rovman Powell hit 41 off 65 balls to boost the West Indies innings.

Bangladesh saw six wickets win against West Indies in the first ODI of three-match series at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Shakib Al Hasan, playing his first ODI after a one-year ban, helped Bangladesh bowl out a weakened West Indies for 122 in just 32.2 overs. He took four wickets for just eight runs in a stunning international comeback.
In reply, the home side reached 125-4 in 33.5 overs, with skipper Tamim Iqbal hitting 44 off 69 balls.
Kyle Mayers top-scored for the West Indies with 40, while debutant Hasan Mahmud claimed 3-28 for Bangladesh.
Uncapped trio ready to show their might

Bangladesh’s three ODI’s uncapped – Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud and Mahedi Hasan- said on Sunday that they are eyeing to grab their opportunity.
Bangladesh team management was adamant to make a statement through their selection for the ODI’s series against West Indies following the axe of Mashrafe Mortaza.
As a result, they opted to include the uncapped trio for the upcoming series against Windies, trying to justify their vision 2023 and the young kids on the block said that they are eyeing to make it count.
While Hasan and Mahedi had the chance of sharing the national dressing considering they have experience of playing T20 internationals earlier, it was completely a different proposition for Shoriful as he is completely a new kid on the block.

Hayden Walsh Jr has tested positive for COVID-19 in Bangladesh and has subsequently been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series, said Cricket West Indies on Friday.
The ODI series will begin in Dhaka on January 20 followed by the second game on 22 while the series concluding last game will be played at Chattogram on January 25.
The West Indies leg-spinner, who is asymptomatic, had returned a negative test result upon arrival in Bangladesh on the weekend. However, he returned a positive result in Dhaka in the PCR test administered on Wednesday (January 13).
The result was further verified by a second positive test on Thursday.
