On January 3, 2009, the first Bitcoin mining operation went underway, and a 50 BTC reward was sent to address
1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa. Although unconfirmed, it most likely went to the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto, the inventor of Bitcoin. While no official transactions were recorded in the genesis block, the embedded text, “The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks” was a nod to the financial crisis of the time, and a major motivator behind the decentralized currency’s inception.
Fast forward to May 2021, and those 50 bitcoins would collect you a cool $2.9 million USD. However, due to either a quirk in the system or an intentional implementation in the code, the first 50 BTC can’t be spent. Instead, the first mining operation launched what would become global recognition of Satoshi Nakamoto’s vision of a decentralized currency, and become a financial and technical force to be reckoned with.

It’s been about a month since Google released the first Developer Preview for Android 12. Then, the company pushed a bug fix release a little over a week ago. Today, the second Developer Preview for Android 12 has been released, bringing with it more improvements and security features.
While we were hoping to see more user-facing features added with this Dev Preview, it seems that Google’s not ready to flip the switch just yet. Here’s are some of the key new features available for Pixel owners and developers today:
App overlay controls – Android’s system alert window gives apps a way to get users’ attention for important actions by showing an overlay on top of the active app. These windows can interrupt the user, though, so we already require apps to request permission before displaying them. Now in Android 12 we’re giving you control over whether these overlays can be shown over your content.
