A large road project is progressing as planned in southern New Castle County, Delaware. The new U.S. 301 will reportedly improve safety, manage truck traffic and reduce congestion; support approved and proposed economic development in a key Delaware growth area; enhance the region s ability to compete for economic development; create needed jobs; improve local access to the Northeast Corridor Rail (Amtrak), commuter rail (SEPTA) and bus (DART) services; improve livability in the region; and reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Updated: 12:27 PM EST Feb 18, 2021 In response to Thursday s winter weather, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has placed additional vehicle restrictions on interstates and limited access expressways in central Pennsylvania.Tier 2 of the commonwealth’s weather event vehicle restriction plan is now in place on:Interstate 81 from the Pennsylvania-Maryland State Line in Franklin County, through Cumberland, Dauphin, and Lebanon counties.Interstate 83 in York, Cumberland and Dauphin counties.Interstate 78 in Lebanon County.Under Tier 2 restrictions, all Tier 1 restrictions plus a prohibition on tractors towing loaded tandem trailers without chains on board are in place on affected roadways.Under Tier 2 restrictions, the following vehicles are not permitted on affected roadways:Tractors without trailers.Tractors towing unloaded or lightly loaded enclosed trailers, open trailers or tank trailers.Tractors towing loaded tandem trailers unless there are chains or anoth
PennDOT begins to lift travel restrictions on central Pa. highways

Restrictions preventing some types of commercial vehicles from traveling on central Pennsylvania’s major highways were lifted Tuesday morning, PennDOT said.
This means the following vehicles, prohibited from highway travel Monday, can now drive on Interstate 83 in Cumberland, Dauphin and York counties, Interstate 81 in Franklin, Cumberland, Dauphin and Lebanon Counties, and Interstate 283 from PA 283 to I-83:
All commercial vehicles, including those with chains on board;
Trailers pulled by passenger vehicles;
Motorcycles; and
Recreational Vehicles, or RVs.
