More than 25 schools in Queensland have seen enrolments increase by at least 40 per cent in just five years, including one that has added an extra 1000 pupils.
They should have been celebrating together.
Tayesha, known by the family as Tay, loved being an aunty to Chiâs little boy.
She lived with her brother and father in Howard.
Tay was close to her family, confiding in Chi about her struggles.
âI used to talk to her a lot when something was wrong,â Chi said.
âShe would come to me about what she was feeling and Iâd give her advice.
âThis time she didnât.â
Tay was known for her smile.
She was âalways making jokes, imitations, always laughing and smiling,â Chi said.
Their mother, who suffered from mental health issues, had died last year of organ failure after a life of substance abuse.

Maryborough’s scheduled Anzac Day march for next Sunday has been quickly revamped to allow school students and others to join service and ex-service personnel on the route to the Cenotaph.
Maryborough RSL Sub-Branch president Paul Coleman said Maryborough schools were contacted after Queensland restrictions were lifted for all outdoor Anzac Day events in 2021.

On Sunday, she addressed a crowd of people at Maryborough Zonta Club s International Women s Day event at the Brolga Theatre. Ms Stepanov is the first woman to fill the role for Queensland Integrity Commissioner, and is constantly being asked for advice from government officials, weeding out corruption and being called in on a range of matters, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.
