Waynesboro s Service Unit of the Salvation Army didn t just match last year s charitable giving, they blew away 2019 s total.
According to Tom McCloud, chairman of the Waynesboro unit, giving was up 41% over last year. Overwhelming support, even in this most difficult year, from the volunteers and donations from the public resulted in over $14,000 being raised, McCloud said. These funds will be used in the Waynesboro, Greencastle and Mercersburg areas to support efforts of the Salvation Army to Do the Most Good.
For over 150 years, the Salvation Army has been helping individuals and families that are in need, not only at Christmas, but throughout the year.
