Central Ohio Technical College celebrates 50 years
Staff Report
NEWARK Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) is celebrating 50 years of providing education leading to in-demand careers for central Ohioans.
The college kicked off a year-long anniversary celebration on July 1. It has branches in Newark, Coshocton, Mount Vernon and Pataskala. As we celebrate COTC’s half-century of strengthening our community, the college is poised to continue helping students build successful futures, uncovering workforce opportunities and impacting lives for decades to come,” said COTC President John Berry.
In 1971, when COTC welcomed students at its Newark campus, which it shares with Ohio State University at Newark, the new college offered six associate degrees. Today it offers more than 50 associate degrees and certificates.
Ohio State outlines financial plan, sets tuition rates
University also details fall back-to-campus reactivation
The Ohio State University
The Ohio State University remains on strong financial footing in the short- and long-term, officials told the Board of Trustees this week.
The university spent tens of millions of dollars since March 2020 to combat COVID-19 on campus and faces revenue losses caused by the pandemic in areas including net tuition and fee revenue, auxiliary revenues and athletics. Yet, long-term, Ohio State is poised to rebound, university officials noted in an interim financial report covering July 1, 2020, to March 31, 2020.
The long-term picture is anchored by an increase of nearly $1.4 billion of investment income for Ohio State compared to the previous fiscal year.
