Taking Care of You aims to connect families with support during pregnancy through the first year of a babyâs life. The program offers whole family support for depression, anxiety, substance use, stress, grief and loss, and challenges with social needs like housing. Congratulations to Nancy Byatt, Tiffany Moore Simas and all of the Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Program (MCPAP) for Moms Team. MCPAP for Moms was named a winner in the success story category of the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Cross-Sectional Innovation to Improve Rural Postpartum Mental Health Challenge. The
AHRQ challenge elicits narratives and proposals that address postpartum mental health in rural communities for the agency to share with health care systems, policymakers, state and federal partners, and the public. The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the need for solutions to support population mental health, especially mothers experiencing postpartum mental health issues.
