FALMOUTH A weekly four-part business management class for maple syrup producers will run online from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays June 8-29.
“Is My Maple Business Profitable? Finances for Maple Producers,” offered by University of Maine Cooperative Extension and University of Vermont Extension, is designed to provide financial management education for maple business owners and the skills to understand their operational cost of production and profitability.

BUFFALO, N.Y. The cancellation of Maple Weekends by the NYS Maple Producers Association leaves many syrup-makers in a sticky bind: Should they cancel pancake breakfasts and sugar shack tours?
The event, which is usually held over two weekends in March, won t take place this year due to the pandemic. That has led to some of the region’s largest and longest-running operations canceling events and others moving forward with new safety measures.

MALTA State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball will join the Upper Hudson Maple Producers Association on Friday for a tree tapping even to mark the start of this year s maple syrup season. The event will take place at Sugar Oak Farm in Malta.
