A literary festival, celebrating all forms of the written word inspired by the coastline, is set to return to North Norfolk this summer.
The fifth incarnation of the Sea Fever poetry and prose festival will take place at Wells Maltings in late June and aims to celebrate the country s emergence from the pandemic.
Sea Fever is North Norfolk’s festival of poetry and prose, was launched in 2018 as a predecessor to the established Poetry-next-the-Sea festival and to coincide with the re-opening of Wells Maltings.

The Owl
Cold, yet had heat within me that was proof
Against the North wind; tired, yet so that rest
Had seemed the sweetest thing under a roof.
Then at the inn I had food, fire, and rest,
Knowing how hungry, cold, and tired was I.
All of the night was quite barred out except
An owl’s cry, a most melancholy cry
Shaken out long and clear upon the hill,
No merry note, nor cause of merriment,
But one telling me plain what I escaped
And others could not, that night, as in I went.

Carolyn “Dolly” Craft, 68 of Wellsburg, WV, suddenly passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 after surgery at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, PA.
Dolly was born on March 25, 1952 in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of Rita Bremer of Wellsburg, WV and the late Walter Bremer and her late birth mother, Angelina (Marchese) Mitchell.
Dolly retired after 19 years of work with the United States Postal Service as the Clerk at the Wellsburg Branch. Prior to the USPS, she worked as a hairdresser. Dolly was a member of the Wellsburg United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose. Many will remember Dolly for her love of reading novels and educational books, being a straight shooter with a heart of gold; but most of all, always educating everyone whether it was on how to send mail or hairdressers on how to cut hair. Dolly made a huge impact in the community with her voice of education in a nontraditional field.
