The village gala has been cancelled for the second year running due to the coronavirus crisis. However, Whitecraig Gala Team was keen to mark the occasion in some way and decided to go ahead with a Royal Walk for 2021 next Saturday (June 12) at 1pm. Spokesperson Becka Macdonald said that every child was allowed to put their name forward for the royal court this year, with the names of the king and queen drawn on Facebook Live in April by Ian Berwick, chairperson of Deantown Bowling Club. Gala King Jordan Prestage, from Whitecraig and a pupil at The Cove, Dunbar Primary School, and Gala Queen Casey Allan, who attends Whitecraig Primary School, will lead the royal occasion.
