Planning granted for urban park and street in Abbey Quarter in Kilkenny
Reporter:
);
The vision for Kilkenny s Abbey Quarter has been given a significant boost with the granting of planning permission for a major portion of the proposed site development today.
Kilkenny County Council has welcomed the decision of An Bord Pleanala to grant planning permission for the development of the urban park and street which will run through the site.
“One of the key reasons for the Council purchasing the former Smithwicks Brewery site was to ensure that areas of high quality public realm could be provided within the former Smithwicks Brewery site to integrate the site into the existing city centre, says Cllr Andrew McGuinness.
