Moten Award. The award, established in 1992, honors ACHA members who have made a significant impact on the institution of higher education in which they work, regardless of whether the individuals have been active beyond their institutions. “For many of us the year 2020 will be forever remembered as one of the most challenging in our careers and your exemplary work to support students, promote the field of college health, and support the mission of ACHA during this time is deserving of high praise,” said Aaron Daugherty, associate director of administration at Habif Health and Wellness Center and member of the ACHA Awards Advisory Committee, in a communication to Baron.

BURLINGTON CITY  First Lady Jill Biden visited a city elementary school to see firsthand how the $1.9 trillion economic stimulus plan will help communities across America.  The stop at Samuel Smith Elementary School was one of the first of President Joe Biden’s “Help is Here” tour stops, a nationwide effort to tout the American Rescue Act, the $1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill the president signed into law last week. She was joined by Gov. Phil Murphy, U.S. Sens. Cory Booker, Robert Menendez, U.S. Rep. Andy Kim and other local elected officials. “What I want you to know is this: we are going to safely open schools. We are going to get people back to work. We are going to lift up the families who are struggling to get by, and we re going to be stronger than ever. That s what the American Rescue Plan is all about,” Biden said following a tour of the school.

I was afraid, I was like oh my gosh, we really were counting on this so that we can further what we do for the community, said Melissa Barron, founder of Rock Your Party. Rock Your Party is a nonprofit that hosts birthday parties for low-income families or kids who have incarcerated parents. They were planning a Rock Your Prom event for teenage girls, but it got canceled because of COVID-19.
