Area municipal, school board election results for April 13 April 13, 2021Local UNDATED – Several area towns held municipal and school board elections Tuesday. In Faith, there was a school board election, where three candidates were vying for two spots and a 3-year-term. Unofficial results indicate Scott Vance and Kris Stocklin-Johnson the winners for the two seats and Kyle Kennedy, who was the only candidate on the ballot for the 2-year-term. In Wall, there were two races. In a race for City Council Ward 2, Kelly Welsh won with 48 votes, defeating Linda Hiltner, who received 14 votes. In a race for school board, 5 candidates were running for 3 seats. Unofficial results show the winners are Joshua Geigle with 157 votes, Cory Fortune with 129 votes and Elaine Simons with 128 votes. In Spearfish, there are races for school board and city council. Three candidates are running for a spot on the council for Ward 2. Six candidates are running for two, 3-year spots on the School Board. Voting is being conducted at the Spearfish Senior Citizen’s Center. In Summerset, there is a mayoral race between Melanie Torno and Tim Hughes. Voting is taking place at the Summerset City Hall. In Lead, three candidates are running for two available seats on the Lead City Commission and three candidates are running for two available seats on the Lead-Deadwood School Board. The polling place is at the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center. ....
