Analysis: Can the NLL Make it Work in Albany Again?

Tuesday February 23rd, 2021 9:00am The last visit for professional indoor lacrosse to Albany was quick, but it did have its moments. Or maybe even a moment. And when we remember who was part of that moment, it’s easy to understand why the former National Lacrosse League team met with varied degrees of success.  Who were the Attack? The Attack played four full seasons in the NLL, going 33-25 over 58 games from 2000 to 2003. But it was the 2002 season that was special not only for fans in Albany, but league-wide as well. Because that 2002 team was good. Very, very good. With sticks up front like Dan Teat, Josh Sanderson, Gary Rosyski and Mike Regan, it’s easy to see how the Attack scored 252 goals to rank among the league’s best. Defensively, guys like Jim Moss, Cam Woods, Phil Sanderson and Shaydon Santos took care of business ahead of goalie Rob Blasdell.
