The event showcases films less than 30 minutes each and are shown in blocks by genre all weekend in Sanford.“Our board debated a lot about whether we would hold the festival in person, we talked to other film festivals, other filmmakers,” Christina Hollerbach said.The film festival had a record number of entries, but officials still had to figure out how to hold it during the pandemic.“We still wanted to have the festival in a safe way. The theater itself has been doing events already, and has an excellent COVID mitigation plan which includes temperature checks and masks required unless consuming food or drink with distancing and assigned seats,” Hollerbach said.The capacity at the theater is under 50%.For people who aren’t comfortable sitting in a theater, the festival came up with a virtual option.
