Horse show set for May 22 in Ironton
IRONTON â The Lawrence County Horsemanâs Association will host a horse show at 475 Commerce Drive, Ironton, at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 22.
There are no fees to observe the show, and anyone can enter to compete.
There are currently 12 competition classes.
Additional shows are planned for June 5, July 24, Aug. 28, Sept. 25 and Oct. 23.

WTO launches virtual course on trade, public health
GENEVA, Switzerland, 4 hours, 59 minutes ago The World Trade Organisation (WTO), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), has launched its first virtual course on trade and public health, with focus on the Covid-19 pandemic. Designed in the spirit of the 2020 edition of the WHO-WIPO-WTO study on Promoting Access to Medical Technologies and Innovation: Intersections between public health, intellectual property and trade, the five-week virtual course will bring together government officials and technical experts from across the world working on health, intellectual property (IP) and trade policy issues.

Dr. Jim McKean, OHIO Chillicothe Associate Professor of Law Enforcement, was recently awarded an RHE Workforce Success Initiative grant. Dr. McKean proposed a project titled the Southern Ohio Public Safety Workforce Development Training. The project’s goal was “to initiate a model of public safety workforce development training utilizing available instructional resources from Ohio University Chillicothe to meet the needs of local law enforcement officers in our service region.”
New initiatives to improve workforce opportunities in the Appalachian region have been made possible thanks to a new project spearheaded by the Executive Dean for OHIO Regional Higher Education (RHE).
