Run for Manchester donkeys in the world’s biggest marathon Date published: 08 May 2021
Runners at a previous London Marathon
The Donkey Sanctuary is inviting people to become part of its intrepid team of runners in this year’s London Marathon, which takes place on Sunday, October 3.
With four participants already signed up, the international animal welfare charity, which has a sanctuary in nearby Abbey Hey, has five places still available for the Virgin Money London Marathon, with another five places available in the Virtual Virgin Money London Marathon.
Now in its second year, the virtual event will see 50,000 participants around the globe join the 50,000 runners on the streets of London in the world’s biggest-ever marathon.
Partnered with the James Lind Alliance, the charity will find out what matters to us most so research can make the biggest difference to our lives.
With such limited funds for stroke research, worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s vital that we come together and make our voices heard. If you’re a stroke survivor, or you care for or work with someone affected by stroke, join me and speak up for stroke.
Don’t miss your chance, visit: stroke.org.uk/jla by the deadline of March 21.
