AS part of Mental Health Week, pupils at Burley and Woodhead Primary have been learning how gardening can help bring people together, helping us to connect with each other, ourselves and nature. Pupils at the school have been planting sunflowers to give out in the community in order to spread a little happiness. In the project, run by the school council, every child has planted two sunflower seeds; one to keep and one to give to someone else. The children have loved watching the seeds grow in their classrooms and are now looking forward to spreading the love around their local community of Burley-in-Wharfedale. Pupil are now hoping to see lots of beautiful sunflowers bloom around the village.
