A resident of a southwest Calgary long-term care facility died early Monday after being found outside in freezing temperatures.
Police confirmed they were called to Extendicare Cedars Villa, at 3300 8th Ave. S.W., at 4:45 a.m. Monday for reports of a missing person, a senior who was a resident of the facility.

Staff reported last seeing the resident, a 91-year-old woman, at 1:15 a.m., and noticed she was missing at 3:30 a.m. More than an hour passed before police were notified.
